Notable Differences The text on the front of the bar is thinner on the counterfeit. The counterfeit is missing a small detail on the pickaxe where the handle and head intersect. The corner radius is too sharp on the counterfeit. The corner radius is too sharp on the counterfeit. This third version of the genuine bar features the same reverse logo as the second version above, so while the counterfeit more closely matches the logo size, the orientation is incorrect and the detail on the miner and donkey are lacking.Discussion & Detection Even with at least three versions of genuine Silvertowne bars in play, this counterfeit is easily identified visually by the sharp radius on the corners.聽 However, we have seen updated versions of other counterfeit bars which fix that issue, and it is entirely possible that newer counterfeit Silvertowne bars do not have this flaw, so it is important to take care in inspecting Silvertowne bars.聽 With several genuine versions to remember, the Precious Metal Verifier is a good option for testing these bars. |
